SikaFast- Fast-Curing Structural Adhesives
SikaFast adhesives include a series of high-performance, two-component structural adhesives. They can be used to form strong bonds in lieu of traditional mechanical fasteners but have a large number of different applications. The SikaFast product line includes methyl methacrylate (MMA) and acrylic adhesives.
Not only do SikaFast products have great bond strength, but also they can bond to a diverse number of materials including metals, plastics, and more. Their fast cure times and rapid strength development make them great for many high-speed manufacturing setups or with thin material applications. They also come with different open times to better meet different processes.
The applications for SikaFast adhesives are numerous, and they are commonly used in the automotive, electronic, construction, and manufacturing industries.
SikaFast Product Spotlight:
SikaFast 3341- With an extended open time of about 25 minutes, this two-component MMA is ideal for larger applications or those requiring more time for component adjustments. It has good strength and impact resistance. It also features a non-sagging and thixotropic formulation for a professional-looking finished product. Like other SikaFast adhesives, it can bond to a wide range of substrates with limited surface preparation required.
SikaSeal- Wash-Out Resistance
SealSeal is a line of adhesives/sealants designed to stay in place when exposed to fluid. These products also reduce read-through for a cleaner looking finished product. Some adhesives are even expandable to bridge higher gaps. The product line includes heat-curing sealants as well as PVC free universal mastic adhesives.
Applications for SikaSeal adhesives are numerous but mastic and anti-flutter applications in vehicle assembly are among the most common.
SikaSeal Product Spotlight:
SikaSeal 330- This seam sealer is an innovative breakthrough in adhesive technology. It is specifically designed for pre-powder coating applications. Unlike the few other powder coating sealants on the market, it is able to withstand temperatures up to 446°F and maintains its flexibility after curing. It also is designed to eliminate read-through, not brown with curing, and be compatible with any color for a high-quality final look.
Sikaflex- Elastic Polyurethane Products
Sikaflex products are one component polyurethane and silane-terminated polymer adhesives and sealants. In general, they have good adhesion, durability, weatherability, chemical resistance, and mechanical resistance. The product line includes general purpose sealants and multi-purpose adhesives as well as those made for very specific applications. From long open times to instant grab, these products vary in their properties to meet specific applications.
Applications for the SikaFlex product line include sealing, adhesive bonding, and caulking in vehicle manufacturing, construction, boat building, and much more.
Sikaflex Product Spotlight:
Sikaflex 221 Multi-Purpose Polyurethane- This one-component polyurethane adhesive sealant has a wide range of uses including permanent elastic seals and general bonding applications. Not only does it bond well to metals, plastics, and ceramic materials, but also it can be painted or sanded. It meets NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 standards related to contact with drinking water as well as NSF Proprietary Substances and Nonfood Compounds related to products used in food processing.
Sikasil- Silicone Products for Demanding Environments
Sikasil is a line of silicone-based products. They can adhere to plastics, glass, wood, concrete, masonry, and coated metals. On top of that, their UV resistance and temperature stability make them great for more demanding environments. The diverse product line includes two-part silicone adhesives, one-part sealants, neutral cure silicones, and structural silicone adhesive sealants.
While the possibilities are almost endless, applications for Sikasil products include use with window perimeters, precast concrete, coping joints, subfloors, and brickwork.
Sikasil Product Spotlight:
Sikasil GP 101- This general purpose silicone sealant has excellent adhesion, high heat resistance, great UV resistance, and good flexibility. It comes in a wide variety of colors with some approved for food equipment applications. With a non-sagging formula, it is also easy to use and creates a high-quality finished product.
